Some Excerpts
I'd love to say [I've been a Starsky & Hutch fan] since day one but I honestly don't remember if I saw the pilot when it was originally shown, or as a repeat. I know that I saw The Fix on it's first run through -- so I've definitely been watching since 1975. One thing that sticks in my mind was watching on nights when we had sleep-overs at our house. Starsky fans (myself and a woman who is still a friend to this day) got to watch from the couch. Hutch fans (my younger sister and her friend) had to sit on the floor. I have no idea why, but probably because I was the oldest!
I was already writing fanfiction (although I didn't know that term) before S&H started, so I immediately started writing about my favorite cops. I still have the original copies of stories I wrote in '77 and '78. My story "Make Believe They're Brave" which I just realized may not be posted here and will have to remedy, is a rewrite of one of those early fics.
I once said I could probably write a fic for every day of Starsky's recovery after Gunther.
I'm not at all good at Starsky and Hutch fall in love with women and get married -- I don't do romance at all well. Even in "Bad Moon Rising" where Starsky is dating Meredith, I couldn't even keep her in the same state as he was!
Enjoy writing -- or reading. If you write, find a good friend, and a better editor/beta. If you read, give yourself a wonderful present every week and indulge in our favorite guys in a fantastic story. Their lives will never end if we keep writing stories that show their friendship, love and joy in each other.
