In 2001, the creators apparently felt they had to explain what a fanzine was to its audience, one that was now fairly firmly settled into online life: "Do you like to have something printed on paper that you can take anywhere, read whenever you want to, as often as you want to? Do you enjoy stories written by fans, illustrated by fans? I do -- but with the rising popularity of the Internet, fanzines seem to be in short supply these days. But search no more! Here is [a brand new new fanzine] featuring various members of the DS9 crew, now available. Proceeds go to charity." [1]
