Uraraka and Bakugou fight during the School Tournament Arc. Although Uraraka loses, she only does so after a tough battle where she earns Bakugou's respect for her tenacity and strategy.
Fandom
Bakugou/Uraraka is a relatively popular het ship in the Boku no Hero Academia fandom. As of August 2020, there are over 3800 works on AO3, second only to Midoriya Izuku/Uraraka Ochako among MHA het ships.[1]
According to FanFiction.Net's pairing feature, Kacchako is the second most-listed pairing for both Bakugou (23%) and Uraraka (41%), following their respective pairings with Midoriya Izuku.[2][3]
Kacchako was the thirty-seventh and sixty-ninth most reblogged ship on Tumblr according to the Tumblr Fandometrics' Year in Review 2018 and 2019, respectively, the highest ranking het ship for the My Hero Academia fandom in those years. Enthusiasm for the ship may have waned as of 2020, indicated by the inactivity of prominent Kacchako creatives such as dailykrumbs, drizzydoodles, and saisai-chan.
Opposition
Non-supporters and anti-shippers are often squicked by Bakugou injuring Uraraka during their match at the Sports Festival, as well as other instances of his verbally and physically aggressive behavior.
Kacchako shippers have complained of harassment from fandom police. In 2019, Reddit user Impact_Calculus conducted an analysis, finding that Kacchako was the most downvoted ship in r/BokuNoShipAcademia.[4]

Kacchako works often reference canon evidence of Bakugo and Uraraka’s mutual respect and acknowledgement of each other’s strength and pride as a foundation for a romantic relationship.[5][6]
Bakugou commonly changes his nickname for Uraraka from "Round Face" to "Angel Face".
