Athena is a Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus character that is based on the Greek Goddess of the same name. Since the goddess she is based upon is a virgin goddess, Athena doesn't birth children. She imagines her children into being like how she herself was born. Since she doesn't have to birth children in the normal way, she is able to have many in quick succession. As such, she has several children in the series - most notably Annabeth Chase.
