Annita Smith was a fan writer whose fan fiction appeared in print fanzines. She was a honorary member of the California Crew vidding collective and submitted art to the Blake's 7 fanzine Southern Seven. Friends reported that she passed away on or before May 16, 2024 at age 71.[1]

Her friends posted a tribute to the Revelcon Facebook Group. It is quoted here anonymously with permission:

Neetz loved to hang out with her friends at science fiction conventions, especially many years at Media West*Con. Annita received her nickname “Neetz” at Media West and she liked it so much that it became her pen name. Neetz was an official “cousin” of the California Crew vidding & writing group and she was “wife” number 14 to Cuz Abdul. Neetz enjoyed the early Dallas cons run by Larry Herndon and the ETSU Star Trek Club that were held at the NorthPark III Inn. She was also part of Larry’s Trivia Contest Committee. Neetz wrote many fan stories, some of them happy, some of them sad, some of them about Alias Smith & Jones. Neetz wrote and illustrated stories in the universes of The Real Ghostbusters, Man From U.N.C.L.E, X-Files, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Blake’s 7, Remington Steele, Back to the Future, Shadow Chasers, Quantum Leap, and Relativity Cousins (a major crossover ‘verse). With Sharon Dickerson she published an Alias Smith & Jones fanzine called Reiver’s Legacy. She also published a Scarecrow & Mrs. King fanzine.
