Alicia Spinnet is a supporting Harry Potter character. She is a member of the original Gryffindor Quidditch team introduced in Philosopher's Stone. She becomes a member of Dumbledore's Army.
Alicia is most commonly paired with George Weasley in het and Katie Bell and/or Angelina Johnson in femslash.
Alicia's appearance is never described in the books, but she is sometimes considered a character of color because she is portrayed by POC actors in the films. The Harry Potter Wiki arguably influenced this view, because of their policy to treat the films as canon, by listing Alicia as having "dark skin, brown hair and brown eyes" for many years.[1] She is also depicted with dark skin in the Lego Harry Potter video games, but not universally in other Harry Potter media.[2] There is therefore some debate as to whether fanworks portraying Alicia as white is whitewashing.
