Zhang Zhehan is a Chinese actor and musician born on May 11, 1991. He is best known in fandom for his starring role in Word of Honor, the 2021 adaptation of a danmei webnovel by priest. See Wikipedia for more.
On August 13, 2021, he was the victim of a smear campaign that resulted in the end of his acting career and the removal of Word of Honor and his other tv shows from Chinese platforms.
In December 2022 he returned to popular notice with the release of music singles. Some of the songs referenced his experiences overcoming his canceling. Two of his songs reached #1 on the global itunes charts. [1]
Fan Names
His name is commonly abbreviated as ZZH by both international and domestic fans. Some fans also refer to him as a cat (maomao 猫猫) or use a cat emoji in place of his name. He is sometimes drawn in fanart with cat features. Junzhe shippers, who ship him with his Word of Honor costar, Gong Jun, may also refer to him as laopo (wife).
His fans have their own nicknames as well. His solo fans are called Haizhe (海哲) or HZ. Haizhe is the same pronunciation as jellyfish in Mandarin. Toxic solo fans are called Hansi (涵丝) or HS. Junzhe shippers are called Juzipi (橘子皮) or JZP.
Juzipi who believe the theory that Zhang Zhehan does not control his instagram account refer to fans who don't believe the theory as Zhang Sanjian fans, ZSJ fans, or whalers. ("Zhang Sanjian" is what they call the person they think has been impersonating Zhang Zhehan since 2022.) Sometimes the term "whaler" is reserved for solo fans and the term "Junjian shipper" is used to describe Junzhe shippers who think post-2022 Zhang Zhehan is not an impostor.
RPF and Shipping
An RPF fandom that grew out of the Word of Honor fan community ships him with Gong Jun, his Word of Honor costar. The vast majority of Zhang Zhehan related fanworks on the Archive of Our Own are tagged with Gong Jun/Zhang Zhehan. A subset of Junzhe shippers also ship his previous acting roles with various characters played by Gong Jun. These crossovers are known as Junzhe Extended Universe.
