You're Beautiful is a South Korean mania drama that aired in the fall of 2009, written by the Hong Sisters and starring Park Shin Hye and Jang Geun Suk. The drama averaged around 10 percent in viewership and was popular with overseas fans.[1]
Synopsis

The story centered around Go Mi Nyeo (Park Shin Hye 박신혜), a nun in training who joins the popular boyband A.N.JELL in place of her twin brother, Go Mi Nam (recovering from botched eye surgery in America). YAB is a creation of the popular Hong Sisters writing team, who are know for using meta humor, pop-culture references, and over the top antics and was the source of both much squee and mockery. Those who love YAB love it deeply for the sense of humour and pop-culture references; those who hate YAB hate it for the bizarre antics and ridiculous characters.

- "You don't exactly watch You're Beautiful so much as accept Stockholm Syndrome from it. I spent awhile going OH MY GOD THIS IS SO STUPID and HOLY CRAP IS EVERYONE IN THIS DRAMA AN EMOTIONAL RETARD (answer: yes), but once I gave up and stopped expecting reality or logic or even common sense, everything went nice and numb... like being a lab rat and pressing the pleasure button over and over and then going into a coma. My advice for watching YAB: drink heavily, throw all your standards out the window, and surrender yourself to an epic explosion of crack, kpop, bad hair, boys in drag, slash parodies, random dream sequences, characters who freely discuss their own fanfiction, and a breast-binding nun in eyeliner and purple skinny jeans."[2]
