Yona is a side character from The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom; she is a female Zora and Prince Sidon's fiancé.
Fandom
Yona is a rather divisive characters with the game's fandom, as many viewed her as killing the Sidlink ship, that pairs up her Sidon with Link, or as Nintendo trying to confirm Sidon as straight after the popularity of the ship in the previous game, which lead to some hate against her character for being Sidon's fiancé, or writing him as being in an unhappy marriage with her.
However, there are also a lot of fans that like Yona and view the backlash against her as an example of Misogyny in Fandom, or at the very least think she had missed potential and should have been a bigger part of the game. This lead into many shipping Yona with both Sidon and Link, or at the very least portraing both the Zora as having a crush on Link.
