Slit, under the impression that Furiosa gave Capable to Nux, demands a wife as well. The Wives decide to troll him, and Slit doesn't realize what he's in for when Toast is "given" to him.

Wifed is a popular Mad Max: Fury Road fic featuring Slit/Toast. This AU features a developing relationship between former Toast the Knowing, one of Immortan Joe's former Wives, and the warboy Slit. It's followed by the sequel Dadhood. in 2018 it was nominated for an award in the Mad Max Fanfic Awards.

I want you to know I clicked the kudosbutton at least four times and got that goddamn condescending smiley four times. That's how much I loved this chapter.

I love how well you write Toast through Slit's eyes, it's really impressive. And it really feels like her, if that makes any sense? I feel for her. And her struggle with how damn hot this threatening and weirdly sweet violent vicious warboy she's let into her bed is. Which sounds jokey, I know, but- Shit I can't phrase it it in a way that sounds like I want it to. It works really well, I guess is what I'm trying to say. "bizarrely endearing and much too attractive even bald and scarred up" is my new favourite description of Slit, that would totally be his online bio in a modern au type of setting after she said it there, much to her eye rolling.

I love that Slit's restructuring his idea of Valhalla, and that a big part of it is that Morsov's stuck hitchhiking but never being picked up by the side of the eternal highway. Also that he's so weirdly respectful of Toast, that he actually pleads with her, that he just wants to stay with her. Sure, that's partially due to the luxuries of living in the Vault and because he wants to be as Important as Nux, but. Yeah. Goddamn. I love this fic so much. -juliettdelta
