When I Was A Young Boy is a text-based lyric meme inspired by My Chemical Romance's 2006 song "Welcome to the Black Parade" from the album The Black Parade. Entries in the meme typically start with the line "When I was a young boy..." but end the sentence in a novel way.
A number of MCR lyrics have been turned into memes, but "When I was a young boy" appears to be the most popular (or at least it has the highest number of examples still findable online in 2016).
