Reactions and Reviews
I did not buy this premise at all. Spock is a despicable dictator, ruling by terror, who must be absorbed into the revolution or it will fail. Kirk must seduce him into rejecting his evil ways. This is well written, but the author could have gotten the same effect even used almost the exact wording, if Spock had been leading Halka's resistance. The threat to Kirk could have come from violent supporters, I can think of no universe in which Spock would be more hated than Kidos and deserve the hate. [1]
Unusual story of mirror Kirk, as a captain and as a rebel against the Empire, meets Spock, a leader within the Empire. In a nice, mysterious touch, Spock appears robed and hooded, portrayed in the accompanying Deeb.drawing which is beautifully done.
Excellent use of story structure as it opens with Kirk commenting on how Spock had just laughed at something he had said and only later do we find out what it was.
Kirk and Spock's sexually charged banter was very exciting.
Good use of the heroic aspects of these characters with a backdrop of political intrigue.
Nicely done. [2]
