front cover of issue #1

View from the Boot Closet is a 112-page gen Doctor Who clubzine that has stories, art, puzzles, and "zaniness" about all six Doctors.

The fiction is by O'Quinn, Bruce, Nasea, LaHaise and others. The art is by Buttery, Judith Proctor, Katuzin and others.

The Proposed Second Issue

A second issue was listed in Datazine #45, but was never actually completed. The ad had said: "Who is The Collector and how did he get the Great Pyramids? Doctor #2 and company aim to find out. In a follow-up to "...An American in Paris" Doctor #5 has a run in with the US Military. An insightful look into the life of the Master and much more. Excellent art by Rich Katuzin and Martin Proctor."

From Martin Proctor, the second issue's cover artist: "This was my cover for the second issue of View From the Boot Closet. For some reason I mistakenly produced the logo as A View From the Boot Closet. The issue never saw completion, but a story that I had originally written for a Doctor Who Magazine story contest, 'Obsession', was to appear in View 2 in lengthened form. It eventually turned up in Cosmic Hobo as 'The Mines of Cadaan'. I eventually adapted it for use as a cover for Enlightenment (with corrections made to Sylvester McCoy's outfit - at the time that I originally drew this not many photos were available, and the ones that I had seen showed him wearing a long coat, and boots. This was apparently between takes on Time and the Rani)." [1]
