"Holy crap, this is a good fic! I could not stop reading it, and since no one seems to wake up when I do, I actually had to start a running commentary of my reactions to the fic on my personal blog because this fic was just so damn good! Hell, I actually had to take a few breaks in reading because I was giving myself headaches by empathizing too strongly with the specific brand of emotionalism of the characters.
I loved the voice of the characters in this story. Veritas is mostly told from Kirk’s point of view, and his voice (reboot version) was extremely personable and enjoyable, reminding very strongly of the voice Deastar used in So Wise We Grow. Of course, to be honest, I was a bit miffed at how many revelations he needed about the different aspects of Spock’s feelings to get the whole picture, but I’m willing to chalk that up to simply differing life experiences. [...] But really, overall, great, great work. Extremely recommended, and it got damn close to So Wise We Grow in my level of esteem for the works, but not quite. Definitely a wonderful read, and now I think I’ll go back and reread her other story, Every Hug."[2]
This fic is brilliant. It took me a couple of chapters to really get into it, but once I was, I was completely hooked! The characterizations are wonderful, the slow burn was perfectly paced, and the tension between Spock and Kirk sizzled. There was a perfect balance of plot and relationship development, and honestly, I just fly through the chapters wanting to see how everything was resolved.[3]
