I started in fandom in autumn 2004, when a chance encounter with User:Rodo let to me reading my first Harry/Draco fic on animexx. I soon discovered more about German and English Harry Potter fandom, started accounts at FanFiktion.de and at the Critics Corner, became a MSTer and created a LiveJournal account to participate in the German LiveJournal MSTing-community LöschDich!, before they took their own advice and deleted themselves. I crossed over into other fandoms relatively quickly and became an avid reader in mostly English-based fandoms like Sherlock and MCU. In January 2009 I discovered podfic, and it was the begin of a beautiful friendship.
I do betareading occasionally, but my most preferred fannish interactions are reading, commenting, listening to podfics, reccing, and lurking. When I do write fanfic, I can't seem to get further than prologues and first chapters. I have written the occasional oneshot, either fanfic or original, but what I do best are essays and meta. I've been a story operator at FanFiktion.de for almost a year; I quit in December 2010 because of differences with the owner of the site. I was a translation volunteer for the OTW since Februaray 2009 and I have written my thesis (Magisterarbeit) about German fanfic: Fiktion und Fiktionalität deutschsprachiger Fan Fiction ("Fiction and fictionality of Fanfics written in German").
In summer 2014, I joined Hannibal (TV series) fandom. Since then, I have written meta, designed and crocheted potholders, screencapped, participated in Twitter campaigns to #SaveHannibal, reblogged and argued on tumblr, created a wall of fen in my kitchen, and became active on fanlore again. I am thinking about doing an academic paper on the show, and re-creating the moth wings from the Italian arc of season 3 with sticks and glass shards in my living room.
I have written fanfic in Harry Potter, House MD, Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Sherlock (BBC) and Lie to Me fandoms; I've also done an audio mash up of Sherlock (BBC) and Marlowe's Diaries, which is why I created a tumblr account in September 2010.
