Crack and Fanon Week, labeled Total Drama Crack and Fanon Week for clarity, was a fanweek in Total Drama fandom for non-canonical pairings hosted by moderators of Total Drama Island Fanon Club. It began in 2009 and ended in 2015 due to low submissions.

2009

Crack and Fanon Week 2009 took place from 04 - 10 October 2009. Each day had prompts, copied directly from the DeviantArt journal to this article. All submissions for this week are listed in a DeviantArt journal post on Total Drama Island Fanon Club. In total, there were 82 fanworks made for this fanweek. This week was hosted by club founders 1000GreenSun and TheMightyPen, as well as logicaltiger.

Announcement Post

The TDI Fanon Club, along with some others[1], are organizing the TDI/TDA Fandom's very first Crack and Fanon Week!

Crack and Fanon Week are seven days dedicated to TDI/TDA crack and fanon pairings. During C&F week, we hope to make lots and lots of crack and fanon art and fanfictions! Each day will center around a different theme and the goal is for everyone participating to incorporate those themes into the fanart created during this time.

Crack and Fanon Week is NOT a competition, it's strictly for fun.

C&F Week will take place from Sunday, October 4th - Saturday, October 10th.

We all think C&F Week will be tons and tons of fun, so please don't be a afraid to take part in it!

You can do just one day, a few or do all seven days! It's entirely up to you!

And if it isn't too much work, we'd really, really appreciate it if you fanon fans spread the word about Crack and Fanon Week. The only way it'll be a success is if the word gets around and people know about it! All you have to do is write a little journal entry or post a comment somewhere! Please spread the word!

And if anyone has comments, questions, concerns or ideas, just post a comment and let us know!

Prompts

Sunday: Holiday- Create fanart that relates to a holiday. Christmas, Halloween, Valentines, or Arbor Day! The options are endless. Check this site for some crazy holiday ideas! [Fanlore Editor note: site linked is unsafe to visit and is purposefully removed. It was on holidayinsights com]

Monday: Double Dates- This theme is about having TWO pairings in one piece of fanart!

Tuesday: Swaps- Of any kind are allowed! Swap clothing, style, hair, personalities or switch your fave fanon pairing with another well-known pairing from another fandom!

Wednesday: Love Triangles- Squares or octagons!

Thursday: Music- Music means that we have to relate our fanart to a certain style, genre or song. Song-fics or pictures with song lyrics on them can be cool submissions for this theme!

Friday: Future/Fantasy/AUs- This theme allows you to put your favorite pairing(s) in a future, fantasy or AU set up. That means you can take your pairing back to Greek times, or the Middle Ages; the 1800s or during a war; a magical wonderland or a toxic wasteland in the future. You can show their children or grandchildren or any other AU setting!

Saturday: Free For All- This means that there are no boundaries. It means you can do WHATEVER you want with your favorite pairing or pairings! Let your imagination run wild!

Wow, wow, WOW! Crack and Fanon Week was a GIHUGANT success! So much fanon and crack fanart was created... Amazing! We definitely have left our mark on DA! : D

2010

Crack and Fanon Week 2010 took place 10 October 2010 - 16 October 2010. Each day had prompts, copied directly from the DeviantArt journal to this article. This week was hosted by club founders 1000GreenSun and TheMightyPen, logicaltiger as well as nikki-kun05.

This year was the first to cover pairings from Total Drama: World Tour. Although there is no list for all the submissions, many of them are still in the group's deviant gallery and there's a post[4] where club members shout-out their favorite works from other fanworkers.

Cody/Noah/Sierra (dubbed NoDErra) for the prompt "Crossover" by CRAZ4cartoon. They are drawn to resemble the cover of After School Nightmare, a shōjo manga.
Bridgette/Tyler for the prompt "Seasons" by snowsky102.

Rules

1. Mature content is allowed, but the correct filters MUST be used. No exceptions.

2. This is the CRACK and FANON week, so no canon, guys. That means couples that have ever been/still are together aren't allowed, even if they're broken up. That means Trent/Gwen, Duncan/Courtney, Geoff/Bridgette, Harold/LeShawna, Owen/Izzy, and Tyler/Lindsay are off limits. That also goes for Duncan/Gwen this year.

3. devinatART's terms of service must be followed. No art theft or recolors.[5]

Prompts

Sunday (Oct. 10th): Around the World- Draw or write about your couple visiting an exotic location! Hanging with the kangaroos in Australia, seeing the sights in Seattle, dancing the tango in Spain, frenching in France! Imagine any place in the world where a fav fanon couple of yours might like to go to!

Monday (Oct. 11th): Crossover- Draw or write a crack couple crossed over into another fictional universe! Be it a book, movie or show, just be creative!

Tuesday (Oct. 12th): OTP/OT3: We ALL have a favorite fanon couple. Draw it! Or write about it! Favorite threesomes go, as well. Foursomes, fivesomes, go as high as you want! (Please note these aren't the same as love triangles)

Wednesday (Oct. 13th): Seasons- Be it spring, summer, fall or winter, your writing or drawing must focus on a fanon/crack couple and a certain season of the year. Frolick in the springtime flowers!

Thursday (Oct. 14th): High School- What would it be like for a fanon/crack couple of your choice if they were in high school together? Would one be on the chess team while the other would be on the cheerleading squad? There's plenty you can do with this one. High school's crazy!

Friday (Oct. 15th): Adventure and Treasure- What time is it? Adventure time! Draw or write about a fanon couple's wild and crazy adventures! They could look for dinosaur fossils in a dark, spooky cave, find buried treasure under their beds, or even travel through time and space!

Saturday (Oct. 16th): Free For All- The sky's the limit with this one. Draw or write whatever you like, as long as it's fanon-y!

2011

Gwen/Tyler, Duncan/Heather, Alejandro/Noah and Eva/Izzy for the prompt "School" by DisneyWiz.
Duncan/Izzy for the prompt "Crossovers" by CharcoalShadows. They are crossed-over with Un Monstre à Paris, (A Monster in Paris,) a French animated film.

Crack and Fanon Week 2011 took place 25 - 31 October 2011. Each day had prompts, copied directly from the DeviantArt journal to this article.

By 2011, both co-founders had largely moved on from the club. Seeing as group members still wanted the fanweek in 2011, they asked their group if anyone was willing to take the mantle[6].

Previous contributors chickenmcnuggie, DisneyWiz and n5d25d90 hosted this year. Unlike the previous year, Alejandro/Heather was not accepted and was treated as canonical. Like 2009, submissions were compiled in a DeviantArt journal posted to the group[7].

Prompts

1. Tuesday, October 25th: Time Periods

Draw a crack or fanon couple in a certain period of time. It could be from colonial times, to the 70s, even in the future, whichever time period you want!

2. Wednesday, October 26th: Music

Find a song that matches a crack or fanon couple, or draw them jamming out to one of your favorite songs.

3. Thursday, October 27th: Life Stages

Draw a crack or fanon couple in a certain age or time of their life. it can vary from babies to children to adults to seniors, even to dead (as ghosts).

4. Friday, October 28th: School

Draw a crack or fanon couple in high school, doing anything they might do in school. Even draw them in school uniforms if you want.

5. Saturday, October 29th: Crossovers

Draw a crossover between a crack and fanon couple and any other TV show/movie/manga/etc you want.

6. Sunday, October 30th: Free Day

Whatever you want!

7. Monday, October 31st: Halloween

To get in the Halloween spirit on that day, draw a crack or fanon couple doing something during Halloween. In costumes, egging houses, something spooky, anything you want![8]

Crack and Fanon Week 2012 took place 1 - 7 October 2012. Each day had prompts.

By 2012, the founders had checked out of the group entirely. Moderator JoeMerl took up the mantle without their involvement for 2012 with assistance from IREALLYHATEMYLIFE. This year was the first to cover pairings from Total Drama: Revenge of the Island.

Anyway, I hope people enjoyed this annual carnival of madness while it lasted. :-)[12]
