Top Cow Productions is an imprint of Image Comics set up by comic book artist Marc Silvestri in 1992. The first book in the line-up was his Cyberforce. The imprint went on to publish a number of creator-owned comics from both established and new writers/artists, as well as other imprints, such as Joe's Comics (J. Michael Straczynski's personal imprint).
In 1996, Top Cow briefly left Image due to the company's brief power struggle with Rob Liefeld, but returned following Liefeld's departure from the company. Top Cow also has an ongoing crossover agreement with Marvel Comics.
Like Image's comics, Top Cow properties have a small but dedicated fanbase. The line specialises in superheroes, science fiction, horror and fantasy.
