Tony Verdeschi was a supporting character during Year Two (Season Two) of Space: 1999 and is seen in 22 of 24 episodes. He did not appear in the episodes "The AB Chyrsallis" or "Devil's Planet".

His title is "Chief Security Officer" and he often serves as second-in-command under Commander John Koenig. He was portrayed by actor Tony Anholt.

He is generally loyal to Koenig and often accompanies him on missions. Verdeschi is shown as an experienced Eagle pilot. He is frequently shown as affectionate and close to Maya.

In "The Immunity Syndrome", the following captions are seen: "Psychological Profile: Subject Anthony Dean Verdeschi. Subject born Florence Italy. Graduated B.A. Hons University Of Rome 1990. Ph.D Cambridge England 1993. Commissioned Space Service 1994.."

His hobbies include making beer, which most of the other Alphans routinely dislike (seen in "Journey To Where", "A Matter Of Balance", "Catacombs Of The Moon", and "The Taybor").

His brother Guido Verdeschi appears in the two-part episodes "The Bringers of Wonder, part 1" and "The Bringers of Wonder, part 2". Tony Verdesci was shown as best man at Pat Osgood's wedding in "Catacombs Of The Moon".

In the novel The Forsaken by John Muir, published by Powys Media, Tony Verdeschi takes a prominent role in the landing expedition which leads up to his new role in Command Center by the beginning of Year Two (Season Two).
