Theodore/Hermione or Theomione is the romantic relationship involving Hermione Granger and Theodore Nott in Harry Potter fandom.
Canon
There is no canon evidence for Theomione. However, Theodore Nott was a Slytherin in Hermione Granger's year, and shared several classes with her throughout the series.
Fandom
Theomione is a rare pairing in Harry Potter fanfiction, with fewer than 600 dedicated stories on Archive of Our Own as of April 2022. The first Theomione story on AO3 is from 2006, though the ship did not pick up steam until roughly 2018.[citation needed]
Theomione is often seen as an alternative to Dramione, as Theo and Draco Malfoy share a similar history. Both men were sorted into Slytherin, both had Death Eater fathers, both were rather wealthy, and both were considered quite clever. The dynamic of Theomione is generally considered friends-to-lovers, as opposed to Dramione's enemies-to-lovers dynamic.
Themes and Common Tropes
Friends to Lovers
As there is little-to-no mention of Theo in canon, the Theomione often portrays Theo as a direct foil to Draco. Where Draco was cruel and bigoted toward Hermione at Hogwarts, Theo is generally portrayed as being cordial to her. Hogwarts-era stories often show them becoming friends during their shared elective classes, such as Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. Post-Hogwarts stories often rely on a complete lack of interaction between the pair at Hogwarts, though some stories do utilise the trope of a past relationship.
Death Eater and Golden Girl
Canonically, Theo's father is one of Voldemort's original supporters. Harry Potter encounters Nott, Sr. in the graveyard during the Triwizard Tournament, and again during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Nott, Sr. is arrested following the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and is imprisoned in Azkaban through the end of Theo's sixth year.
Authors are split on Theo's status as a Death Eater. Often, he is portrayed as being coerced into joining the Death Eaters alongside Draco. His forced allegiance to Voldemort creates an interesting dynamic with Hermione's innate idealism. In some stories, Theo spies on the Death Eaters for the Order, but this is not a universal characterisation.
Time Travel
Due to the publication of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Theo is often depicted as having an interest in time-travel. This, combined with Hermione's use of the Time-Turner in her third year, makes time travel a frequent topic of conversation between the pair. A handful of bonafide time-travel AUs also exist.
