The Sword in the Stone is a small fandom for the 1963 Disney animated film of the same name. The film was based on the novel The Once and Future King by T.H. White, which in turn was based on the Arthurian Legends.
In 2008, this fandom was briefly popular on 4chan, featuring fan art and fan fic of Arthur with "Hazel," an anthropomorphized version of the squirrel that falls in love with him during a brief portion of the film. Although initially intended as a joke, many fans see Hazel's existence as a solution to the plot and character dramas in later Arthurian Legend.[1]
