The Mirror Which is My Soul is a Kirk/Spock story by DVS.

It was published in the print zine T'hy'la #7.

Summary

"It is a rare privilege to be given admission to the Un’falban Museum. Those who have been given this opportunity have seen some of the rarest scientific marvels of the universe. But when Spock arrives, his experience is something altogether different."

Reactions and Reviews

This zine was published in 1988, and this story was an early treatment of the theme that our heroes must love and understand themselves before they can come to a relationship with each other. In this case, it‘s Spock who must realize certain truths about his inner being.

The Un‘falban Museum is portrayed as a huge storehouse, which contained all that, was left of the Un‘falban star empire. All sorts of scientific marvels, rooms upon rooms of sociological displays, and magical displays of artistic beauty and more were locked behind doors located in innumerable passageways. Just the sort of place which would arouse the insatiable curiosity of a young Vulcan science officer. However, this is not the sort of museum where you could see what interested you. No, in this museum a guide would take you to see what was determined it was best for you to see. Spock tries not to be disappointed when his guide takes him to a room where a huge mirror dominates a richly adorned chamber. As his uniform dissolves from his body a reflection appears in the mirror. Himself and yet not himself. This Vulcan reflection pulls him into his world, a world where a Vulcan can smile and cry and most important of all, can love. The message is given and received: ―Now he can be yours, if you dare...‖

An awesome illo of the two Spocks making love by Gayle F. accompanies this story. Gorgeous and sensual and very hot. Both story and illo are guaranteed to make a summer‘s day even warmer than normal. [1]
