Why we love it: This AU features Danny as Steve’s guardian, and Steve as... Steve. This fic is incredibly well-grounded, and is a good deal more serious than we were originally anticipating. It’s got action, it’s got drama, and it’s got humor and witty banter. Throw in a Steve who’s a little more broken than the one in canon and a Danny in a completely different situation, and you get this utterly compelling read.[1]
