Reactions and Reviews

I especially love the first, humorous, part of this. McCoy's prescription ("Don't let him be alone too much") and its priceless effects on Spock ("It took a conscious effort... to exit the turbolift without pausing to peer up and down the corridor first.") are wonderful. And the bit where Kirk unknowingly starts to obey Spock's mental command is perfect. I'm not crazy about the ending; it seems too sudden a jump from an all-shipboard story to a planet that I don't think was even mentioned before. But the rest is very good indeed. [1]

Hmm... A different version of Amok Time finds Spock recovering, but from physical wounds inflicted by T'Pring's chosen one—who was not Kirk this time. No matter, for this story is but an extended love scene, a most erotic and ultimately satisfying one, with some very creative elements. There is, however, a final paragraph that left me confused. I can't interpret if it indicates the whole preceding scene was an imagined fantasy or if it is an "orphan" from another story. It was not enough to detract from the ultimate enjoyment of what preceded it, which was quite nice. [2]
