It was published in the print zine First Time #62.
Summary
"A simple birthday gift is discovered to be more than hat it appears, as an ancient Vulcan legend is wrought to the surface by a cherished artifact."
Reactions and Reviews
Kirk buys a birthday present for Spock, an egg shaped object that is supposed to be a copy of an ancient Vulcan artifact. Immediately he starts having a series of dreams about himself with Spock, on different worlds and as different beings, but always soul mates together. After Kirk gives the egg to Spock, Spock starts having the dreams, and then they share one of the dreams Kirk had earlier. Recognizing they have something unusual, they take the egg to Vulcan, where it is found to be an ancient computer actually programmed by Surak. The dreams were fascinating to read about, with some highly erotic scenes between the two men, and I enjoyed the concept of Kirk and Spock as eternal soul mates destined to be together throughout time.
