Reactions and Reviews

This story of one night of lovemaking on the Enterprise during the "night" seemed to be told on different levels, all warmly loving. I could see how the chess games the two played came into it here and it gave the story a distantly Kirkian/Spockian flavor and added to the enjoyment. Spock's shy, gentle sweetness was expressed wonderfully. Usually, I'm not interested in explicit stories, but this one was done with thoughtfulness and innocence. It was refreshing not to see Kirk strutting and crowing, smug and unabashed.

TENDER AS STARLIGHT is just that - tender. Primarily a love scene between Kirk and Spock (a very good one!), there is some really good dialogue and a sweet flavor to this story - a nice beginning to the zine.
