I'm proposing deletion of this template, whose only content (as far as I can tell) appears to be an apostrophe?

This is probably intended to serve the same purpose as Wikipedia:Template:'. Wikipedia's template is to aid readability of italics + apostrophe and adds a tiny bit of whitespace before the apostrophe. This template just substitutes <nowiki>'</nowiki>, which at least in my browser keeps the apostrophe from being italicised and looks a little better. Wikipedia's looks the best to me. Compare:

1. ''Homestuck'''s ➡ Homestuck's
2. ''Homestuck''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> ➡ Homestuck's
3. ''Homestuck''<span style="padding-left:0.1em;">'</span>s ➡ Homestuck's

ProposeDeletion was appearing with the template because it wasn't <noinclude>'d on the template page but it's since been moved here so it's not a problem.

The template isn't really necessary, but I do think it makes things look nicer (especially option #3). --sparc 19:18, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

I see now why the template has been created, so I'll withdraw my assumption about it being unneeded ;) I can remove the ProposeDeletion notice and this discussion, but maybe we could add some notes to the template's page about what the template is and how it's used, which would also help future editors who might want to use it. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 20:37, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
