Talk:Tolkien Fan Fiction Archive
Category: I am fairly sure fanfiction predated 2003, and the whole book vs. film fanfiction is something we'll have to consider (some book fans reject the film canon, some film fans reject the book canon, and some of us write in both or blend in some fics). Tolkien works better than LOTR since there are SILM writers, and Hobbit writers, but that puts the emphasis on the book instead of the film. I don't have a good answer yet, but that's why I started with the source texts instead of fandom! I also know that there ae subcategories of fanfiction--Hobbit fans, Elf fans, Men fans, Interspecies fans, even Dwarf in the fandom which can be categories in the overall article for now but might eventually be their own entries Robinr 20:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm an idiot: I didn't follow the links to see this entry is about a very specific archive! Ignore what I said above, although, well I'll keep it in mind for more umbrella entries. And cool to see a new archive! Robinr 20:03, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I was confused by the name of this page as well -- it seems too generic to be really useful. But I'm not sure how to rename and/or restructure it to make it work. Tolkien Fan Fiction Archive maybe? Should archives be subsections of the fandom page itself?

- No, archives are really separate entities, and they shouldn't be relegated to subpages, IMO. I will rename this to "Archive" however. -Melina 04:24, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the rename, that does clarify Msilverstar 16:32, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
