Talk:Tie-in
Reorganization??
I came to this page through featured articles. This is a really interesting read! But it feels like two different pages: Tie ins vs. fanfic and Female writers of Star Trek Tie ins. And I feel there's probably more that can be added - The Doctor Who novels that were essentially canon for the 20 year gap in episodes. The Star Wars expanded universe with 100s of tie in novels, that were retconned overnight.
I'd like to propose keeping the Tie in vs. Fanfic discussion, and links to further reading and notable tie-ins here. And then linking to fandom specific tie-in pages. For example: Star Wars Expanded Universe and Doctor Who's New Adventures. That way the fan comments on female authors could be moved to a Star Trek specific page. --Auntags (talk) 23:08, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
- Excellent idea. I'm one who's been tossing stuff on this page for years without a lot of thought as to organization, and I applaud these suggestions. --MPH (talk) 00:44, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Glad you approve. Do StarTrek fans have a specific name for the tie-in novels or expanded material, or would Star Trek Tie-In Novels be an appropriate page name? Of the three fandoms I mentioned here, ST is the one I'm least familiar with.. so that page will probably just be a stub with fan comments to start.--Auntags (talk) 11:19, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Star Trek Tie-In Novels (though we should stick with Star Trek Tie-in Novels to be consistent) is a good title. I can work on that page, as that's the one I know most about. --MPH (talk) 13:31, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Category Question
I want to make a category for for-profit professional Trek publications. Would Star Trek Professional Works be a good title? --MPH (talk) 12:36, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
