Talk:The Clockwork Archives

I went with the site template instead of archive because I don't know if it was an archive and we don't have a template yet for multiple author personal sites. On the version of the page where the site owner announces the closing of the site it says: "The Clockwork Archives has been closed down, on account of I loathe the place and am sick of reading all my mistakes and being told how I could improve a fic I can no longer stand." That sounds more like personal fanfic site than an archive to me. --Doro (talk) 12:27, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Fair enough. The page I was looking at courtesy of Wayback suggested it started as a single author personal site then proceeded to a small invited author archive. "Which brings me to this archive./It started out as a place to hide my own efforts and became an overt celebration of slashy goodness./I begged my favourite writers to let me post their stories..."[1]; I'm not sure how many authors need to be included to call something an archive rather than a collective personal site. I would say it's not a matter of numbers and more a matter of purpose/structure of the site. Archives usually have general submission rules (What do I have to do to get my story archived here?) while collective personal sites are collections of stories by a close-knitted group of friends, people the site owner invited/persuaded, etc. --Doro (talk) 13:46, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
