Question about Structure
This page is currently nominated for featured article. On the nomination page I suggested the IC or OOC? section should be moved up the page. I do think we should highlight the fact that this author never consumed the source material before writing this story. But I'm not sure how to structure the page so that it flows naturally, given the information we currently have here. Any suggestions? --Auntags (talk) 11:37, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Auntags I changed the structure by placing the sections in new places within the article. That's better? --Ellakbhesse (talk) 14:39, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- I've also added a line or two at the beginning to explain about the IC or OOC? section and help readers understand the article better. -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 14:44, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- I think it could work that way. I rephrased the bit you added in the intro, i don't think we need to link to the section specifically since we don't link to any others --Greedy dancer (talk) 15:02, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
Greedy dancer your edit turned out much better than the part I wrote. Thanks for that. I want to help but sometimes not knowing English hinders me. -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 15:17, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- You're welcome, I'm not a native speaker of English either so I get it! However, if I may, I think it would be good to keep these pages in English so we can all understand what is being said ;) I used Google Translate to see what you wrote but it's not very precise and it might lead to misunderstandings in the future --Greedy dancer (talk) 15:24, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- Wait a minute. Are you asking me to avoid speaking in my mother tongue? Sorry but I have to, every day read fanatical content translated from English into Portuguese because nothing I want or like is in my language. We are on the talk page, I thought I would have the right to speak here freely in my own words and so better help Fanlore --Ellakbhesse (talk) 15:29, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- But that's okay, if Fanlore doesn't want me speaking Portuguese then maybe I shouldn't be here in the first place. Because I don't speak a word of English, nor do I read in that language. I use mechanical translators to write the articles. I also use these translations to understand what you are talking about -- Ellakbhesse (talk) 15:34, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- I don't intend any offense, and I am not saying this is a Fanlore policy (I'm just a fan editor, same as you, not an 'official' Fanlore volunteer). I honestly didn't realize you didn't speak English since you have made so many useful edits to English-language pages. Of course fandom as a whole is international and that's wonderful! I just thought that it was the norm that talk pages would be in a "common" language, or at least in the language of the article, so they stay as accessible as possible for as many people as possible; if everyone starts typing in their own languages it's going to get complicated really fast since you can't translate many different languages at the same time using automatic translators. --Greedy dancer (talk) 15:47, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
