It's my understanding that quotes from canon sources aren't the sort of thing we want on the site, and I think we've spent a lot of time removing these quotes and talking about how we don't want them on pages because we're not TV Tropes, but no one's directly said anything to JKFAN (who is the only person who does this) because it's not explicitly against any of the rules, I think.

Can I remove this quote? Can I, from now on, remove any canon quote of this type that I see without talking about it on the talk page? If we definitely don't want this, could a gardener tell JKFAN to stop it? My messages on his talk page have never made any difference — in his recent edit to this page he also added a grandparent category, even though I told him not to do that anymore weeks ago — so I really don't want to waste my time on it just to be ignored again. - Hoopla (talk) 18:22, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi Hoopla, I've gone ahead and removed the quote. We did inform JKFAN that we didn't want these types of additions to pages on Fanlore (they're not explicitly against the rules, but it's very difficult to make a case for them being fannish or useful in any way) but he continued making them regardless.

Now that he's been banned I don't think we'll see any more, but if we do, I think we can treat them as we would any other excessive canon info or details and remove them. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 22:15, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
