Talk:Prince of Tennis
Would it be possible to change the phrasing of "Centered largely on LiveJournal"? Because that implies that *most* of PoT fandom is centered in LJ, which is not the case, from what I've seen. Just outside the English language fandom are huge communities that never touch LJ-- like the Chinese fic forums, or the Japanese doujinshi producers. And I'm certain that there are pockets of PoT fandom that aren't in LJ. So it seems to me that the language is currently exclusive. -- Bellaboo
- There's also currenly 13,208 fics on fanfiction.net, which is probably more than what was produced on LJ, and that's not even counting other smaller non-LJ archives. --Kyuuketsukirui 01:16, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, any time you see language that feels exclusive, feel free to change it yourself. You can always put a note on the talk page or just in the edits field at the bottom to explain why you changed it. --Kyuuketsukirui 01:33, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! And next time I'll correct it myself (I'm still hesitant to change other people's words/work in the wiki, and I should get over that).
I'm not in the fandom and know little about it myself, but I've heard that a large number of fans from Western fandoms -- especially Harry Potter -- crossed over to Prince of Tennis at some point; if anyone could provide an account of how that's affected fandom practices (particularly the perennial slash vs yaoi divide) I think it would be very enlightening. -Duelist 23:26, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
