I just wanted to check before removing the podfic category that the old rule of not adding fan pages to fan activity categories was still in force. I believe the reasoning was 1) it's hard to judge who belongs in what category--if you made cover art for someone once, should the page about you included in the Visual Art category? 2) related to 1, it seems like the categories would quickly be overwhelmed with fan pages. 3) if the categories were only applied selectively, then we're making value judgments about who is important "enough", which could lead to wank and/or edit wars. I think there are other ways to ensure that BNFs are easily found/well-linked, for example by ensuring that there are pages on fanworks they created and/or challenges or comms or conventions they ran. And that these pages and the fans are linked from other fanlore pages. An alternative would be to have subcategories like Podficcers, Fanfic Writers, Fanartists, etc. #1 is still an issue, but #2 is averted.--aethel (talk) 23:30, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
