Where does it come from?

Does anyone have any cites of this phrase being used anywhere? I'd never heard this particular thing so went googling, and the only two hits I got for "mysterious wife plague" were on Fanlore - this page and the Misogyny page. I just randomly ran across this on the Glossary page and I have the same question... is this a pre-internet term? I've never heard it. Google has no results for "mysterious wife plague" or "wife plague" either. -- Liviapenn 14:23, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

I've never heard of it either, but figured it was another term for the Cartwright Syndrome and Women in Refrigerators (two terms which, to me, are close enough to each other nd make it hard to navigate.) --Mrs. Potato Head 16:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
