If she said outright that the correct name was what appears in The Ms.Scribe Story: An Unauthorized Fandom Biography, shouldn't we rename this page to Ms.Scribe and fix the references to her name here?--aethel (talk) 04:10, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- Oh dear, the first paragraph of the preface calls her Msscribe. Is that what she meant by getting her name right? Whichever it was, it's unlikely to be "msscribe" because LJ usernames are always lowercase and that doesn't mean anything. Here's another Wayback Machine capture of her LJ profile page, where the name is listed as "Ms. Scribe"--aethel (talk) 04:16, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- I tried to address this question a while ago and settled on "Ms.Scribe (also msscribe; usually written Msscribe)". I always assumed the "you got my name right" was referring to "Ms.Scribe" per the exposé title, because that's how she wrote it herself on icons (examples here) and her LJ layout etc. But, like you say, the body of The Ms.Scribe Story plus most other fans' writings about her generally uses "Msscribe". BUT "msscribe" is also correct, in that that her pennames at FictionAlley and Porkey were all-lowercase even though they weren't required to be (unlike LJ). I would be in favor of moving to Ms.Scribe but I think you can make a case for using any of the variations for this article. --sparc 02:09, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
