What about Molly (Pete) Edwards which is intriguing enough to draw in readers without the potential the quotes have to seem like commentary on the validity of her choice. I think the quotes would work better for a pseudonym or nickname--facetofcathy 00:07, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

I like the parens idea as the character can then "be" who she feels she is. Molly/Pete has always been a favorite character of mine, and I applaud the canon (despite the fact it was almost 33 years ago) for including her without fanfare. --Mrs. Potato Head 00:31, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

If I may offer a suggestion? In real life, it's rude to continue calling someone by a name when they have a stated preference for another one. After the introductory paragraph, maybe Molly/Pete can be dropped in favour of just Pete? Unless fandom regularly calls her Molly, despite her preference for Pete, which I think deserves a note of it's own. /picky --Anenko 11:04, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Molly herself states the preference once, but she's called Molly all the way through the episode by everyone else, and in fandom is never called Pete. This would be good to note on the page. --Mrs. Potato Head 12:07, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Evans?

We seem to have wound up with duplicate pages at "Molly (Pete) Edwards" and "Molly (Pete) Evans", both attached to this talk page. I'm not sure where Evans came from; it's Edwards in the show. --Greenygal 23:35, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

The Evans is a total mistake, one I thought I'd gotten rid of it. I'm really wishing I'd called this page "Molly Edwards" and just made a note about the "Pete" part. Perhaps that would be best. --Mrs. Potato Head 23:38, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

changed name of article

I decided to change the name of the article to simply Molly Edwards. It's that way in the credits, and, thinking it over, the "Pete" part of her name is fannish interpretation of Molly's remark. I'll add a header about "Pete" on her page to which other fans can add. I probably messed a bunch of things up with all the redirects and deletions, and folks should check the crazy trail I made. --Mrs. Potato Head 13:14, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
