Can someone help me understand what is fannish about the following? Are these stories? Fan tropes?

Thank you and I am going to to rewrite the section to make that point clear. Not certain how that relates to the fanbase (is the fact that Metallica riffs off HP Lovecraft mean something to their fanbase? It is a theme that fans talk about or that pulls them into Metallica? Have Metallica fans adopted Clulthu as their own personal mascot in response, in a never ending cycle of mutual fandom admiration? MeeDee (talk) 16:29, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
