Does this mean something different from lore or fanlore in other fandoms?--aethel (talk) 18:48, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, it is different. It refers to a very specific type of fanfiction oriented around a fan-made species, not to anything canon nor a popular fanon or headcanon of any kind. Naucean - My New Creature by Hydromancerx (link) is a major example, as well as one of the oldest. Disgustedorite (talk) 19:12, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Addendum for context, since more than one person I've talked to apparently does not know this: Spore is a game about evolution, and part of the main gameplay is creating wholly original species--using a robust creature editor--and forging their evolutionary story from single cell to galactic civilization on the timescale of millions and millions of years. Lore, in this context, ranges from additional stuff you made up about your creature that isn't in the game to whole fan-made play-throughs like Naucean.
