Shouldn't this just be Stargate Atlantis/Lists and communities? --Kyuuketsukirui 04:44, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Lists

I just went through and added a ton of lists. Several of the names look purely SG-1 focused, but they're not; it's just that you can't rename a Yahoo group afaik, and the lists were formed before SGA came along, and expanded their focus to include it. Anything I added clearly includes SGA as a primary fandom in its description, and I figured that was enough to count. --Arduinna 10:33, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Question/suggestion: renaming page for clarity?

Looking at the page's title vs. its content, to me "Lists" implies things like Themed Lists and Masterlists, which are not on there (and for which there might be an argument for making that a new separate page), whereas the the lists that are on here all seem to fall under the category of "listservs." How about renaming the page to "List of Stargate Atlantis Communities and Listservs" so it's easier for new or casual visitors to immediately understand what is/should be on the list and isn't/probably shouldn't be added? --Sk 03:02, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

I had to look up "listservs" because I'm not familiar with that word. ^^ According to Wikipedia "LISTSERV" is a specific software application and using the word "listserv" to describe a different product or using it as a generic term for any email-based mailing list of that kind is a trademark misuse. I don't think "Lists" here implies themed lists and masterlists because in a "community" context the "list" equivalent is mailing list but if there is need for more clarity, I suggest List of Stargate Atlantis Mailing Lists and Communities because list is short for mailing list. --Doro 13:04, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
That makes even more sense! List of Stargate Atlantis Mailing Lists and Communities sounds great, thanks. --Sk 22:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Defunct Links

Just making note that the entry: *Stargate-Weir-in-Atlantis (y!group link) (April 2008 - ) is a dead link that I can't find on the wayback machine or anywhere else on the internet. I've not transferred it to the timeline page.
