Change or Redirect Misspelling

The DC Animated Universe section lists Mark Hamilton as the voice of Joker, instead of Mark Hamill, BUT this was a "joke" at the time this edit was made (~2016). Someone at Disney badly mispelt his name on a badge, and people started referring to him as Mark Hamilton in posts and tweets. So should it be changed, or keep it and redirect to Mark Hamill? A redirect would probably just need a paragraph on his page explaining what happened. --Auntags (talk) 00:13, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

It was just a misspelling I think, I usually copy and paste the actor so I get the spelling correct, so I'm guessing I went off on the wrong website or someone had edited Wikipedia with "Hamilton" and I didn't realize. Probably a redirect would be fine, and maybe a littler blurb about it, especially focusing on posts or fannish discussions it was included or if it affected them. I honestly didn't know of the joke. I added some info and links to Hamill's page. It would be interesting to find a reverted edit on Wikipedia, but no such luck. I'm not aware of any fannish discussion, but I have definitely seen fans confused by the intentional misspelling and I wonder if there could be some gatekeeping element to it. It's something fans on Reddit don't bother explaining to people who don't understand! Going to keep an eye out for that in future.
