Talk:Hogwarts Legacy Boycott
Antisemitism
I haven't played the game (boycott), so maybe if I had I wouldn't be asking this question, but:
the article mentions "the antisemitism of the game's plotline" while the copypasta section states "while the goblins were framed". So is the antisemitism of the plotline a misdirection, or does it go further than the goblin framing? That could be useful to clarify (or quote an explanation), since the article as it currently is confuses me a bit. CobyCat (talk) 11:19, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
Here's a couple articles I found quickly which may cover the issue: https://www.heyalma.com/the-antisemitic-history-of-goblins/ https://theconversation.com/amp/how-hogwarts-legacy-video-game-reinforces-antisemitic-scapegoating-with-goblins-202710 https://www.jewishaz.com/arts_features/are-the-goblins-in-hogwarts-legacy-antisemitic-the-harry-potter-video-game-renews-criticism/article_5ebc1416-abca-11ed-93d0-c752ce948a0a.html Sobqjmv sphinx (talk) 13:30, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've added the second article as a reference since it specifically zooms in on the game, and gives some clear (and disturbing) examples. The third one probably does too, but I can't access it because of GDPR stuff (and this probably goes for other EU users too). CobyCat (talk) 13:47, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
