Talk:Fannish Crochet

Is it necessarily Amigurumi if it's a freestanding figure (not a garment or bag)? E.g. this "crochet isopuppy" (reference to the invented creature for Salvage (ATLA story)) -- the creator never uses the term "amigurumi", and I know they're at least a little bit aware of animanga fandom but I'm not sure if they're aware of the Japanese crochet practice. I want to put this craft project on the page but I don't know if I should put it in the amigurumi section or make another section. EDIT: huh, I guess the Hollow Knight example doesn't use the Japanese term either. -- Quaelegit (talk) 22:50, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

To my understanding, yes it is amigurumi, but sometimes they also call them plushes or soft toys! Doesn't seem to have a divide based on the type of fandom it is in Distracteddaydreamer (talk) 12:33, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
