the first draw party was a midnight meetup during 2011 Otakon, probably on Saturday:

- 2011-07-27 - found the above post here and then googled for a copy; OP's blog was deleted at some point.

- date unknown - evidence there was a 2011 AUSA draw party in November, 2011
- date unknown - in post #18, "Emi" is said to have run the draw party, though the OP of the origin post linked above seems to be named "Mandy" (they remade their blog here; I sent them an ask asking if they started draw parties or what) Also other discussion in this thread mentions getting up for the Sunday shoot was really hard in 2011, which seems to confirm my suspicions that the 2011 draw party was midnight Saturday.

- 2013-07-01 - 2013 draw party announcement - mentions that "mandy and sheepskin" had the artist card idea. sheepskin is probably http://sheepskin.tumblr.com as they have homestuck in their archives, but I haven't reached out to them.
- 2014-06-11 announcement for 2014; by this point the organizer had to get in touch with the staff to discuss organizing it because, like photoshoots, it was just too big.
