A Draw Party is an informal social gathering held at conventions with a focus on a specific fandom. Draw parties originated in Homestuck fandom. They take place at empty or unused parts of a convention center so that fans can gather based on their shared interest.

Draw parties are fan-run events that are not officially associated with the convention. Fans are the organizers and attendees of draw parties. They are sometimes organized online. Common activities include drawing fanart and trading art cards. It is a time to hang out, unwind and rehash the convention.

The first online references to Homestuck draw parties emerged in February 2012.[1][2]
