Talk:Destiel Wedding

Hi Riverside. I'd been hoping to start off the wedding stuff myself if nobody else did, so thanks for creating it! I'm not a fan of the show or ship myself, but I really wanted the whole thing to be documented and I feel it helps to have someone who's a bit more familiar with the situation XD. Hello! It's honestly been such a pleasure to write about it, OfMonstersAndWerewolves! I've been involved in both Destielgate and Supernatural since November and am just endlessly fascinated by it and the fandom. I doubt there will be anything like it again, so I'm glad I've been able to document some of it! <3

Regarding the Destielgate page: I'd like to add about what the fans refer to as "episodes".They were basically the result of the fallout and new (or rather revived) fanbase, with an episode could last between an hour or a week. They covered a variety of things, from discussing/shitposting about a theme, character, problematic quality or old material from conventions or non-canonical sources, like John Winchester's Journal.

They could also be the result of external factors by someone involved in the show. There was a Cameo from an actor, who I believed played Benny, which insinuated he shipped Destiel, which caused a storm of posting. In the early weeks, a meme I saw a lot was "Babe wake up new spn episode dropped" when a new topic was found. The Destiel Wedding is basically just the highest-profile Season 16 episode so far.
