Talk:Contact (Star Trek: TOS zine)
After reading the Zinedex, I think there are two zines smooshed together here. I don't think the long running Contact zine (which published The Rack and what not) was from the UK. The Trek zinedex says it was published in Baltimore by Bev Volker and Nancy Kippax as Harmony Press. There was also a UK zine, that's listed in the Zinedex as Contact III (no idea whether that is some kind of numbering and there was a Contact I and II or whether that is random) that was published in Yorkshire England by this Empathy Star Trek club. I'll correct the publisher info and turn this site into an article for the long running one, and take out the UK stuff.--RatCreature 22:35, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that is correct, Contact was from the US by Volker and Kippax, renowned for hurt/comfort fic and so on; and as far as I can see, all the story detail and covers that are now on this page refer to the US zine, not the UK one.--Mary Crawford 10:05, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
is there any way to retrieve the UK data that was lost when these two Zines were combined. there are two Contact zines - one in the US and one in the UK and we've lost the UK info. I'll do some digging but a lot of this info can be found on Karen Halliday's Zinedex page. --Morgandawn 15:32, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- After more digging, it turns out the UK zine has more than one issue, so I'll rename it to Contact UK. --Morgandawn 14:55, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
Contact #4 Reactions and Reviews-- wrong story listed
I noticed that in the "Reactions and Reviews" section for CONTACT issue 4, a story titled "The Real Thing" is listed, but its link is to a ST:TOS story by the same title published in a slash zine called COUNTERPOINT. I think the link needs changing or removal. Pcdfanwriter (talk) 11:14, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
