Talk:Charity
I'd like to propose that we move this page to Fundraising and Fandom, which could then be expanded to include a broader review of the different types of fan-driven fundraising efforts (including the examples cited here, as well as fans raising money for their/other fans' medical costs, commissions-as-fundraisers, fundraising to support fannish activities like conventions and archives, etc.). There's a lot of fundraising that happens in fandom and isn't specifically termed "charity." Thoughts from other folks? - Fandomgeographies (talk) 16:47, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- I don't have a strong opinion about this, but would be fine with the move. I noticed this because the Fan Aid disambiguation page linked to Fundraising and Fandom, and I thought, wait, don't we have a page for that already.... So if we're not moving this page, that disambiguation page should be fixed.--aethel (talk) 18:22, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Are people still onboard with retitling this page to Fundraising and Fandom?
- Also, the section "A list of charity actions by fandoms" needs to be cleaned up. Many of these are charity zines that should be linked to the zine section, and some are general listing of conventions, which also don't belong here (almost all cons have a chosen charity and this list is way too vague). --MPH 18:41, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
