Influential authors vs. Example fanfics

Hi, I just updated this page to add Gabrielle as an influential author, with links to the fanfic examples that were previously on the page. That's the way this page is currently organized.

I can't think of any other page that has an Influential Authors section. I understand not wanting to have too many example fanworks on a page, but should we update this page so its more aligned with our other pairing pages (ie. with an example fanfics section instead of influential authors). Also, the fact we're saying these authors are influential also implies there is a notability requirement for inclusion, and Fanlore doesn't do that.. I think if we just remove 'influential' that it may help. If those people have multiple works for this pairing, or it helps not overwhelm the page, I think it's fine. Some people have suggested only linking so many as 8 fics as examples, or what have you, which I, for one, don't think covers a grand scope of fandom, and would therefore prefer allowing lists of authors AND some fanworks. -JadedPrism (talk) 23:12, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that we don't want lots of example fanfics! I don't think we can/should suggest a maximum number of example fics and if we did, 8 is definitely too few - the spangel page has ~30 fanwork examples. --Auntags (talk) 23:26, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

No, no you didn't suggest/imply that, personally! I've just seen others say things like that, or say there's too many fics, etc. So I wanted to make the distinction that I feel if someone fears a page is starting to look overwhelming, I think having an Authors section is okay, at least until we acquire enough pages to make a 'Fandom/Pairing Here Fanfiction' category that can be linked to ^_^ -JadedPrism (talk) 00:10, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

I had a stab at reformattitng our fanfic examples. I've replaced the Influential Authors section with an Example Fanworks section in line with other pairing pages. Also added some more information on each fic and they're in chronological order.
