Talk:Bible RPF

I can see how having two separate pages for Bible (New Testament) and Hebrew Bible can create overlap, but duplicating some information on two pages might be better than having a third page--what are the other two pages about if not fanworks about Bible or Tanakh characters? The page name is another problem; to call this "RPF" is to make a claim about the veracity of a religious text. Not all characters have been confirmed to be historical figures.

What if this page were reoriented/renamed to something like Bible in Fanworks or Biblical Figures in Fanworks, with pointers to the New Testament and Hebrew Bible pages, while this page focused on crossovers and popular media adaptations with fanworks? I'm poking around at what AO3 did with its tags, and I see that Jesus Christ is a popular guy who appears in a number of fandoms, from Jesus Christ Superstar to Southpark.--aethel (talk) 04:09, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

I still don't like the "RPF" label on this page, and I think Biblical Figures in Fanworks captures the page's contents better. I was poking around AO3 and found Biblical Character(s) (Abrahamic Religions). There's also a Religious RPF fandom tag that seems to include both Abelard/Heloise historical RPF and the recent Popes. (Also a Rabbinic and Talmudic Judaism RPF subtag.) I don't know if there's enough material for Christian RPF and/or Jewish RPF pages?--aethel (talk) 05:22, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
