Talk:Beyond Antares (Australian Star Trek: TOS zine)
The Beyond Antares issue #9 here is the same as the Beyond Antares R-Rated issue #9. Maybe that helps sorting it out. :) --Doro 01:38, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- the cover of two seems to be one of the R-rated as well, though they may belong to this series as adult issues. Meanwhile I think the colorful, kinda sparkly covers, i.e. six and seven on this page belong to the Californian one. The other covers in that zine are like this, also the Trek zinedex shows these with the CA one.--Ratcreature 02:57, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I started to suspect the mix-up but am too pooped to do anything about it right now. Thank you for sorting it out. Mrs. Potato Head 03:04, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think both the covers and the TOC of #6 and #7 belong to the CA Antares, because they say edited by Michelle Carter, which on the Trek zinedex is associated with that one, even if those particular issues don't have a TOC there. Also the length fits with the other zine, as those all have around 30 pages. I move those two into the other article.--Ratcreature 03:25, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- I am going to take a stab at fixing this.
- Step 1: move all the R rated zines to the R rated page. This includes:
- Issue #2 (cover says R rated)
- Issue 8 and 9 (slash was reserved for the R rated zines, plus see the cover of #9)
- Issue # 5 is also an adult issue. We don;t have a cover, but the publication date and pages match what is currently being sold by Knightwriter. #5 Gen = a double issue (5/6). Only the Adult/R rated zines have an issue 5 with 81 pages.
- Step 1: move all the R rated zines to the R rated page. This includes:
- Step 2: sorting out the California and the Australian editions. From the notes I cannot tell if the TOC for #7 was moved to CA. But it is a slash issue which makes me lean towards #7 being an Adult/R edition. Other than that, I think the CA vs AUS are all sorted
- I'll do some more digging - just wanted to get my thoughts started.--Morgandawn 07:35, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
- The edits and moves are completed. I'll be making a stub for Susan Clark/Smith/Batho - I found a bio page for her while I was googling. Plus i can tie her various names/press names together.--Morgandawn 19:14, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
date questions
What's the source for issue #1 being published in 1975? Since issue 4 was published in 1977, 1975 might be too early (or it might not). The earliest date that the National Library of Australia has is 1977. [1] And when did it cease publication?--æþel 06:13, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Also, it says issue #17 was published in 1979 but the dates for #12 and #15 are 1980. My guess is that the 1979 date is based on the cover image, which is signed as created in 1979, but I've seen seen several zines that re-used fanart so it might be an older piece and doesn't have necessarily anything to do with the publication date. --Doro 19:10, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- I took the date off of issue #17 (and credited the cover), since we don't know the date for sure. --Mrs. Potato Head 19:38, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
